we are back again with russian artist, module one. at just 22 years-old he is already had a stack of releases including an ambient album on detroit underground. * hometown* was written in the depths of russia in a place called novocherkassk, whose industrial cityscapes made a great impact on the overall sound of the album. most of the tracks were written in a few takes. most notably, the track * innermost self* is a dedication to module ones grandma who passed away a short time ago. due to a tragic sequence of events, he was unable to see her before she fell into a coma. the track is overloaded with tension and fear as well as stark anxiety. vinyl tastes better�

midwest groove master titonton duvante joins the god particle family with licentious gopa06. a1 licentious duvante displays his master of musical yin and yang with title track licentious. mischievous synth tones dip between a steady line of kicks and claps and bounce above a deep sea-dwelling bass line. b1 permittivity permittivity is a bottom heavy party starter with hints of acid and subtle vocal samples. warm synth keys wash over the last half of the track, perfect for sending out cosmic smoke signals. b2 sans compunction closing track sans compunction takes us on a darker drive, exploring the outer nebula. ominous synth lines dance along duvantes signature flirtatious rhythms.

why making a techno record in 2016? in the vast stream of new releases and the everlasting quest of new musical boundaries, blint002 tries to focus on the essentials of pattern-based clubmusic. both tracks started as late night studio jams, using only a drummaschine, a synth and some pedals. while 92 avenue ended up being a straightfoward technotrack, including a massive breakdown for everybody still awake and dancing, you have i dont have is incorporating some boomy hiphop aesthetic without loosing its connection to the dancefloor. both tracks are linked by their unresting synthlines, straying around, trapped in a noisey room full of smoke and distortion. bouncing back to the inital question, the answer with this record seems pretty clear: techno is still nothing but pure dark fun.

* beyond the clouds* was recorded from a live session near the heart of detroit using hand crafted modular synthesizers, analog devices and custom made effects units. remastered by ron murphy @ nsc mastering, detroit, usa shortly before he passed away, his memory will live in our hearts forever. in this live version of cv313s classic, the modular recordings were separated, dissected in the mix and dubbed out with a litany of analog effects. during this performance there was a mystical element in the air, strobe lights, vaporous gas and electric dreams. a connection felt with the dancers, a groove beyond a groove, it is that magical essence of japan. this was a night to remember, recorded live in tokyo with love. during the closing moments, the ghostly ambiance faded, the smoke cleared and beyond the sequence was born. remastered by bazza @ alchemy studio, london. uk

mount liberation unlimited is formed of sunbeams, sockerbitar, and swedes ! chance members of a stockholm-based band during their late teens, tom lagerman and niklas janzon found themselves peeling off from the pack to smoke and make techno. dreaming of a global dance music community in which artists are allowed anonymity, the two set out to service this secret society by soundtracking happy-making moments under the mount liberation unlimited guise. mlu s third release, (eerie) for your love, developed organically and inversely from their live set into the studio. in this procedural fluidity, hypnotic live takes animate as tenacious tone, melody, and groove. mlu s method relies upon thee jam, the feeling shared in the moment, and then revisiting that friendzied magic. this dedication to spontaneity is tempered by a naive faith in one another, an unspoken jibber jabber that melds two minds together in childlike harmony.

the band: a french trio called france, using drums, bass and amplified hurdy-gurdy. they perform only live, in the middle of the audience - turned in to face each other - full on smoke machines and strobes. and they play only one song for the duration of their hour-long set. and its the most transfixing live experience of intense physical and mental focus. the distorted hurdy gurdy plugs frances sound into the countrys history of folk music and popular festivities, of communal trance and immersive pleasure.

with the release of their last album �smoke� (2013) dapayk & padberg moved to a listening oriented direction, that also works perfectly off the dance floor. the new single �sink this ship� underlines their decision to follow this path in the future � maybe even with their upcoming album �harbour� later this year. on �sink this ship� eva padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence than on previous records. dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness. however, this is not a radical change turning away from the club sound. two of the most sought-after remixer artists at the moment, robot koch and bebetta, ensure the suitability for the dance floor. robot koch skillfully disassembles (for which he is known) the original. primarily he builds his version on the emotional base of eva�s vocal part and dapayk�s warm bass line. however, on the flip side, there is almost a contrasting change. the slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical bebetta techhouse beat, that flows through the club in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner.
